Swimming Training Squads

Each training session includes technique refinement, endurance and speed work, race strategy and mental skills (for competitive swimmers)

Must attend 4 of 7 sessions per week.

At a high level of competitive training with commitment to morning sessions.

Able to use initiative and train independently if required.

Must attend 80% of Northland meets and be competing at regional and national level.

development

Must attend 3 of 5 sessions per week.

Can keep up with 1.5 hour programme and does not need extra rest time.

Understands clock GO times and can take pulse accurately.

To attend 5 Northland carnivals and maybe representing at regional level.

junior

Attending 2 of 4 sessions per week.

Building fitness,improving speed

Maintaining and improving stroke efficiency.

To attend 3 Northland carnivals per year.

fitness

Attend 1 of 4 sessions per week

Swimming to maintain and develop fitness.

Can swim multiple lengths of freestyle, backstroke and breastroke with good technique and correct turns.

May attend school swimming sports and WAS carnival(s).
